0 Intro to Court's Corner

I have had many experiences with technology especially during my time at Florida State. I have taken courses such as CGS 2100 and also CGS 2518, which have immersed me in the world of Microsoft Excel. I have also held internships that have required me to create presentations and reports on Microsoft Powerpoint and Word. These experiences have taught me a great deal about growing technology specifically in the business world. Although I have spent a lot of time working with technology, my expertise does not go far beyond Microsoft products. Therefore, new and cool programs such as Prezi are a foreign language to me, but I am excited to learn more.

In this class I hope to master new programs and better understand how these programs effect teaching and student's comprehension. I would like to learn how to apply these programs most effectively in a learning environment. As a business major I am always interested in the next new thing and believe education is an important aspect in advancing our society.  I am excited to merge my two interests and hope to grasp a wider understanding of technologies capability.

The learning style questionnaire taught me that I am extremely neutral when it comes to learning techniques. I was surprised by this because I thought I was significantly more of a visual learner. However, I can believe my results because there are definitely certain ways I retain different forms of information. The questions in the assessment also taught me a lot about myself because I have never thought about how I respond to different learning tactics.

  1. Courteney,
Your experience with Microsoft programs will transfer to most software. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if your classmates come to you with questions. You should have fun with the Independent Learning Projects, trying out new tools.
